Artist Bio

I work with many different clay bodies developing work in my studio in the hills behind Ballina. I graduated from Southern Cross University, B.V.A. as a mature age student in 2008 after completion of a three year Di0ploma of Ceramics at Northern Rivers TAFE in 2003. Taking history as a starting point I focus on women horses and power in my ceramic practice negotiating strengths and fragility of both material and subject.
I have participated in self-funded and invitation Residencies in Jingdezhen, South Korea, Japan, linchang Yunnan and Mirahru with Masakasu Kusakabe and recently had a time at Nancy Fairfax Artist in Residence Studio at the Tweed Regional Art Gallery
I work with many clay bodies and local found clay on my property to make sculptural and functional ware that reflects stories of women horses and cultural influences through surface treatment and firing processes.
